Frequently Asked Questions

Shifang's technology and approach explained in-depth.

1. What is a protective packaging kit?

A protective packaging kit is a complete, pre-assembled solution — carton, foam inserts, barrier or ESD bag, desiccant and labels — packed to a drawing so your team can use it straight from the box, without assembling components on site.

2. Is non-standard packaging not good?

Not at all. Standard cartons are faster and cheaper for stable, high-volume products, while non-standard packaging is the better fit when dimensions, protection levels or handling routes differ. We recommend the option that matches your product and volume — often a mix of both.

3. What is the mounting bracket?

A mounting bracket (or insert bracket) is a rigid or foam part that holds the product in a fixed position inside the carton. It prevents movement, spreads impact loads and keeps connectors and labels accessible during packing and unpacking.

4. What is the barrier layer? Why do we need it?

The barrier layer is an aluminium-foil or metallised film laminated into the bag. It blocks moisture, oxygen and light, protecting electronics and precision parts from corrosion during long transit or storage. It is essential when humidity or transit time is high.
